I knew exactly who was speaking before being told so.I don’t know why Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano has not been talked about more since it’s publication in 2021. Fast paced and entertaining, it was an enjoyable read, fondly reminding me of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evonovich. All in all, Cosimano somehow stacks these silly concepts together and makes a house of cards that precariously but defiantly stands on its own. There were some glaringly unbelievable elements, especially when it came to Findlay’s involvement in every aspect of the storyline. She goes on to make colossally horrible decisions but instead of detracting from the story, they enhanced the ensuing circus of events. Fortunately, that’s where our similarities ended. As a constantly sticky mom of toddlers, I identified with Finley Donovan from the very first sentence of the book. All hell breaks loose in fantastic hilarity.
